رغم العدد الكبير من أبناء دمياط الذين يعملون في مجال الأثاث بالإضافه لأعداد كبيرة أخرى من العمالة الوافدة من محافظات الجوار ، إلا أن إنتاجنا من الأثاث لا يتناسب مع هذا العدد الضخم من العاملين في هذه الصناعه ، و يعتبر من أكبر الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى ذلك عدم الاستعانه بالتكنولوجيا الحديثة في الصناعة ، و التي تساعد على تعظيم الإنتاج و الإرتقاء بمستوى جودته . إن التخلف الصناعي بصفة عامة و الذي تعاني منه الكثير من الدول و منها مصر يرجع و بشكل أساسي إلى عدة أسباب من أهمها عدم سعي المسؤولين الحكوميين إلى تطوير الصناعة و الانفتاح على العالم من هذا الجانب و تسهيل الاستعانة بتلك التكنولوجيا سواء في مصانع مملوكة للقطاع العام أو تشجيع القطاع الخاص علي استيراد تلك التكنولوجيا بالوسائل التشجيعية المختلفة و بالحث على الاطلاع و توجيه القطاعات المختلفه لاستيراد هذه التكنولوجيا ، تلك الخطوات التي كان من الضروري أن ترتبط بسياسة الدولة و توجهاتها ، أضف إلى ذلك هذا النوع من الحرص الشديد الذي امتد ليصيب رؤوس الأموال الدمياطية بالجُبن و عدم الرغبة في زيادة الاستثمار في ذات المجال و كذلك تلك الأفكار المترسخه في أذهان الجيل السابق و نسبة كبيرة من أبناء الجيل الحالي بتوجيه أرباحهم بشكل شبه كامل للعقارات و الأراضي و غيرها من وسائل الادخار الأقل مخاطرةً ، هذا التوجه و على مدار عشرات السنوات أدى إلى تأخر هذه الصناعه و وقوفها محلك سر دون أي تطوير و هو الأمر الذي وصل بنا الآن إلى هذا الحال الذي نحن عليه … مزيج من القصور الحكومي في العقود السابقة مع الموروث الثقافي لدى الناس بالادخار بدلاً من الاستثمار بالاضافة إلى ضعف الاطلاع و المتابعه الخارجيه لتقييم الذات من قِبل معظم العاملين بالصناعه .. و لكن … ماذا نفعل الآن ؟؟؟؟ هل نقف مكتوفي الأيدي ؟؟؟؟ لابد من التطوير حتى نستطيع أن نسترد جزءً من مكانتنا في هذه الصناعه لابد أن نحرك هذه المياه الراكده منذ عقود … و التطوير الذي نتحدث عنه لابد أن يشمل عدة عناصر .. ١ – الارتقاء بمستوي العاملين بصناعة الأثاث ٢ – التصميم ٣ – الإنتاج ( و يشمل الخامات و تكنولوجيا الصناعة ) ٤ – التسويق و سوف نجاهد معاً في كل عنصر من هذه العناصر حتي نستطيع خلال السنوات القليلة القادمة أن نرى بلدنا كما كانت في الماضي قلعة صناعية عظيمة نفخر بها جميعاً . هذا الهدف لا يستطيع أي كيان في الدنيا مهما كان حجمه أو نفوذه أن يحققه بدون تضافر لكل الجهود بين مؤسسات الدوله المختلفه و بين كل الكيانات العامله في هذه الصناعه سواء كانت المصانع أو الورش بكافة أحجامها و وصولاً إلى العامل البسيط .. لدينا حلم نسعى لتحقيقه .. إن منتدى وود تيك هو واحد من أهم المشروعات التي تلمس و بقوة مشكلاتنا المزمنه السابق ذكرها فهو يفتح لأبناء تلك الصناعه آفاق جديدة لتغيير سلوكهم الإنتاجي و اتساع الرؤية لتشمل آخر ما وصلت إليه تكنولوجيا صناعة الأثاث و كذلك آخر المستجدات على صعيد مدخلات هذه الصناعة من خامات و لوازم و غيرها ، كما يوفر المنتدى على هامش هذه المعروضات مجموعه من المتحدثين المتميزين في مجالات التصميم و الإنتاج و التسويق و غيرها من الموضوعات الهامة ذات الصلة و الذين سيجعلون المنتدى أكثر ثراءً و عُمقاً .. نحن لا ندعي المثالية و الفهم المُطلق لظواهر الأمور و بواطنها ، و لكننا أفراد عاديون ينتمون إلي هذا المجتمع نحاول و نجتهد و بالتأكيد سنصيب و سنخطئ و لكن الشيء الذي لا يقبل المزايدة هو إخلاصنا لهذا البلد و حرصنا على مستقبله …
